Success Story - Eva Shoshany
The Business Group lesson for me, "Slow down and smell the roses, both at work and outside of work," says Eva Shoshany, who owns WIGT Printing with her husband Barry.
"WIGT is a commercial print shop and our jobs range from quick-and-dirty to fine design with four colors and die cutting. Our customers come to us because of the people who work here. We maintain a commitment to customer satisfaction." To develop this quality of service as the business grew, Eva had to learn to be a more effective manager. "I was at the tail of the tiger getting whipped about by circumstances in business."
Eva has been a Business Group member for thirteen years. "The group dynamic is really helpful. Hearing other people’s stories and seeing them grow over time has been a real shot in the arm. I got my ’on-thejob MBA’ with the help of The Business Group."
"Over the years, The Business Group has helped me redefine my job over and over again. It has helped me work out the boundaries between myself, customers and employees. I’ve succeeded at extricating myself from the minutiae of day-to-day operations."
"We continue to put a huge effort into infrastructure computerization, job descriptions, employee reviews, regular operational progress reports, etc." The result is a more successful company and better balance between work and life. "I was heading for suicide via work," says, Eva. She now has time to study Tai Chi and invest in real estate!
